Funding boost for the PAC
Today the project to build a Performing Arts Centre (PAC) at Chipping Campden School (CCS) receives a huge boost of £125,000 funding from property developer, Duchy Homes. The PAC, a 3.8-million-pound project, is due for completion by the end of the year and will open to the public in Spring 2022. The Centre will include an auditorium to seat up to 340, dance and drama studios, green room, classroom, a bar area, high quality technical and audio equipment and an Amphitheatre.
Steve Malik, Head of Construction for Duchy Homes comments, “We are always keen to play a part in building links with the local communities in the areas where we develop housing, so we are thrilled to be able to present CCS with this cheque which is in addition to our previous commitment to help fund the Performing Arts Centre. Helping to support communities is a vital part of what we do, having built both the keyworker houses next to the school and those for open market”
As a result of the new Performing Arts Centre, the School will not only benefit from the enhanced teaching spaces but will also be able to expand the number of courses on offer to students interested in the performing arts. In addition, the local community will have access to professional performances, live screenings, cinema showings and a space to hire for events.
“Access to affordable housing for our staff is hugely important and we now have 13 homes adjacent to School” says CCS Principal John Sanderson and adds, "I would like to acknowledge the significant investment, time and resources from the School’s Housing Association over the last two years ensuring that the additional funds generated by Duchy Homes have been directed to the CCS PAC Campaign. I am also enormously grateful to those who have so far supported the project”.
